For those who think they may be addicted to porn and want to seek treatment, said Janet Allen, clinical director at Creekside Counseling in Idaho Falls, the "ideal recipe for recovery" involves three elements: - See an independent counselor who understands sexual addiction. Make sure he or she is experienced, educated and certified. - Attend a support group. These are primarily community or church groups where people with similar problems hold each other accountable for their actions. - Attend a therapy group specifically tailored to the needs of addicts. All of the above are available in eastern Idaho, though Allen did say there is a shortage of people trained to deal with sexual addiction. - - - Both Calvary Chapel Church and LDS Family Services offer counseling and support groups for sexual addicts.
